After a mysterious experience inside a temple in the north of Kyoto back in 2013 I was compelled to start writing. Up until that point, I had never written—neither professionally nor as a hobby. Frankly, the idea seemed absurd, and I initially dismissed it as nonsense.

But something that I interpreted to be a voice from deep within my unconscious, would urge me to begin. This voice became so much of a nuisance that barely a day passed without it telling me that I needed to write.

At a loss of what to do, I made a deal with it.

I will start to write, if you shut up and leave me alone.

From that day, ideas and concepts began flooding my mind, seemingly out of nowhere. The only way to make sense of them was to write them down. This site is the culmination of some of those thoughts, fragments of inspiration, and musings that demanded to be shared.

The temple where this happened is called Kurama Temple, and hence the name of this endevour will be called Kurama Calling.

Thanks for reading
