A Vision for the Future

The human species is completely unique
For it can articulate a vision for its own future
and through action and the incorporation of ideas from its environment
proceed to make that vision a reality.

On the flip side,
we can also fantasize our own destruction
and work hard
to make that a reality too.

But whatever the case may be,
out of the 9 million species on the planet
isn't it rather strange that we’re the only ones
that can choose between the two?

But who knows,
maybe a group of monkeys are plotting something crazy in trees and caves
that we are completely unaware of.
Although, I think the likelihood of that is quite low.
